Arkansas State University-Mountain Home has awarded four scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year from the South Shore Foundation Endowment to Arkansas State University Foundation. Dr. Pat Bailey, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs, announced the recipients. South Shore Foundation is the charitable arm of NATCO at Flippin.

The recipients are Marcus Barger of Mountain Home, a 2008 graduate of Mountain Home High School, studying to become an information systems networking specialist; Kimberly Booth of Salesville, a 1986 graduate of Thayer High School, studying information technology; Logan Sheehan, a 2008 graduate of Yellville-Summit High School, studying computer technology; and Margaret Holland of Lakeview, a 1981 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School in North Little Rock, studying to teach middle school level math and science.

South Shore Foundation specifies that recipients reside in Baxter, Marion, or Boone County. The scholarship pays $1,520 for two semesters and may be renewed up to a maximum of four semesters or until completion of the associate degree, provided the student keeps a “B” average.

Applications for the South Shore Foundation Endowed Scholarship are available annually from the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home Financial Aid Office, 870-508-6195, and are due each year by April 1.
